Description

The Rolling Stones PROMOTIONAL ALBUM UK VERSION, DECCA, RSM-1 1969, EXTREMELY RARE!

Blue and Silver Decca label, UK Issue, RSM-1, XARL 9205 (Side 1), XARL 9206 (Side 2). The cover has RSM 1, this is because the sleeves for the UK album were made in the USA and the US pressing plant did not know that UK Decca would be using a different catalogue number on their LP. So the US number was used. The LP was pressed in UK and then put into the US sleeve when arriving at Decca in London.

Vinyl in extremely good condition to near mint, please see photos of the cover, there is some foxing but otherwise overall good condition.

ROLLING STONES The Promotional Album '69. This is by far the most famous and legendary Rolling Stones official promotional album available to date! Compiled by London Records in 1969, distributed exclusively to influential rock radio programmers prior to the release of Let It Bleed, it's a funky sample of tracks from the band's back catalogue. Not concentrating on just the hits, it features more obscure album tracks, and includes an 'arguably alternate' take of Love In Vain, available from no other source.

Only 400 copies of this mega-rarity were pressed -- 200 for the American market and 200 for the UK market. The UK issue had a UK Decca label LP disc (catalogue number RSM-1) issued in a US sleeve.

The picture on the sleeve was taken during the Let It Bleed recording sessions. It is a sepia toned shot of the band in the studio against a white background with the band name at the top and 'A Special Radio Promotion Album In Limited Edition Not For Sale' text.

Due to the white background there is some light age discolouration visible to the front of the sleeve - though not excessive.

This album has been prepared for radio stations only by The Rolling Stones as a program aid. It was felt that most stations have in their library both volumes of The Rolling Stones Hits LP's (NPS-1 And NPS-3) and that one more LP, assembled especially for radio stations, could be of great help in programming. This LP, consisting of 14 Rolling Stones selections, spans the complete recorded history of The Rolling Stones beginning with one of their earliest recordings (Route 66) and ending with a brand new selection which will be included in The Rolling Stones' next LP (Love In Vain).

A true investment grade collectable, and a TOP rarity, indeed!!

We welcome any questions you may have about this fantastic LP, just let us know.
