Description

An original 1st press of 'BIG HITS' on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1/4. Please note the Decca deep groove which is indicative of 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono gatefold cover - not a peephole version like the later copies . Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we can only make out a few very light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Do bear in mind that so so many of these greatest hits LPs have been played to death over the years. Finding a well cared for copy is not all that easy. But when you do boy do they sound good - all in MONO. The test track is 'Lady Jane' ...and it plays very nice and clean - with just a couple of clicks at the start and then again toward the end of the track.. Interference is very limited in nature. By and large a very clean player that delivers a super rendition..a definite keeper.
Cover (Ex) In lovely condition and has clearly been looked after very carefully down the years. Very clean and shiny front with vivid colours - no signs of fading. The rear is equally good - just flat, clean, shiny, and without creasing. The interior looks great too - with little signs of use. All pages are still stapled in fine and intact. There's very little edge wear. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a terrific early specimen.
Inner (Vg+) Some ageing, but no splits.
