Description
An original 1st issue of BIG HITS on the UK Decca label. Matrix 2A/4A. This Lp would have been pressed just a few months after 1st release and whilst still charting. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono gatefold cover. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Fantastic condition despite being over 50 years of age. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Do bear in mind that so so many of these greatest hits lps have been played to death over the years. Finding a proper fresh low-mileage copy is not that easy. But when you do boy do they sound good - all in MONO. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. This title often offers up disappointing renditions due to shear over-use. But I can guarantee you that this copy will knock-you-off-your-feet. Interference is pretty much non-existent. I couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots. It's a beautiful clean rendition. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Again, this title nearly always exhibits problems - but this example is WAY above the copies that usually surface. Lovely clean shiny front - like a mirror...with one minuscule thumbnail crease. The rear is equally good - just flat, clean, shiny, and without any creasing. The interior looks great too. All pages are still stapled in fine and intact. They are not heavily thumbed - I could only pick out one tiny nick. Edge wear is very light for this title and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. What a specimen!
Inner (Vg+) No splits, but a rip at the die-cut centre has been taped up. Expect a bit of staining down on aroun the right corner/edge.
