Froget about Nick Ingman's other releases. This is by far his best record. I know his Big Beat on Music De Wolfe and most other obscure releases, but none of those can be compared to The Power Pack. Pure Funk. James Brown cover versions, Herbie Hancock songs, Curtis Mayfield tunes.
""I Got You (I Feel Good)" is one of the best Euro Funk tunes I have heard. Hard drums plus super tough bass play. The Ingman composed "Soul Searchin'" is a true surprise. Sounds like a S.O.U.L. track. I love it. The sound could be compared to Ingman's incredible "Destinctive Themes" LP on K.P.M. Rough sound. Perfect recording.
There are tons of breaks (drum loops, bass loops, percussion loops, horn stabs, etc) and beats for producer and variuos club tunes for DJs. Trust me, you won't find many other records that are more funky and tasteful than this one.
This cover is much more interesting than the U.K. one. I don't know for sure whether the Canadian or the U.K. pressing is the original. The reissue has a different cover.
