Description

***USED, BUT VERY GOOD SHAPE. AMAZING RECORD***
This was The Offspring's first full-length studio album.

Originally released on June 15, 1989 on Nemesis (#NEM-006), only 5,000 copies of the vinyl were made at the time and it took the band two and a half years to sell them all. One of the copies was destroyed by Wally George at his show the Wally George Show in 1989, thus leaving only 4,999 copies available. Some copies also have the Cargo logo next to the Nemesis logo on the back cover. Compact cassettes were also released, but they are rare. The vinyl is now the most expensive piece of The Offspring's work as it is also the one of the rarest as it is no longer kept in stock by most media retailers.

The band also re-recorded the tracks "Blackball" and "I'll Be Waiting", which were originally released on a 7" double A-side vinyl record which was distributed by the band itself under the fictitious Black Label Records. The tracks were added to the album, so that it would not just be a 20+ minute mini-album.

Nitro/Epitaph reissued the album on CD (and again on vinyl and cassette) in 1995 after The Offspring gained fame with their third album "Smash", which was released the year before. This reissue features a different artwork instead of the original somewhat controversial "Guitar Alien" front cover artwork, designed by the late Marc Rude. It also had a different catalog number (#86460). This reissue has been out of print for years.

Nitro reissued the album on CD once again in 2001. It has the same cover as the 1995 reissue and was released as catalog number #15803 instead of #86460. The the last track, "Kill The President", is absent from this reissue (it features just the first ten tracks). According to frontman Dexter Holland, "Kill The President" was removed to prevent legal pressure falling upon the band and Nitro.
