Description

This is for an original album by The Gods entitled Genesis and is a first printing for the band on the Columbia label in stereo. If you delve into the history of the band you’ll see that it was a turnstile for some of Englands finest musicians. John Glasscock of Jethro Tull, Greg Lake of King Crimson and Emerson Lake and Palmer, and Mick Taylor of the Bluesbreakers and Rolling Stones all passed through the door and played with the band. This debut album would feature Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake (who would also play with Ozzy on “Blizzard of Oz” and “Diary of a Madman”) and they would go on to become the backbone of Uriah Heep in the 1970’s. The album has the original nicely laminated cover along with the old style UK flipback seams on the reverse. The record comes in its original inner sleeve and the cover is nice keeping its original gloss, but it has a small crease which I tried to show on the front cover. The vinyl is like new and is extremely rare and a must have for any early rock collector. This is probably your only chance to get the debut album of the band who would become the successors of the Rolling Stones as the house band at the Marquee Club in London.
