Description

THE BEATLES - 'WHITE ALBUM' No.0000018

This genuinely low-numbered copy of this iconic album is one of the earliest to have been offered for some time.

This cover not only bears the incredibly low number of No.0000018 but also has a totally unique construction.

Although indistinct, the number has a legible impression and is located in its usual lower right position on the front panel.

However, the embossed 'THE BEATLES' wording is NOT present anywhere on the front panel. Scroll down to see where it is.

The most noticeable feature from the outside is that the flipover/flaps are visible on the front & rear panels

Another unique feature is that the spine text is printed on the rear cover, approximately 1 inch from the spine

There are two printer's marks/symbols down the left edge of the left panel inside the gatefold.

The embossed 'THE BEATLES' wording is located on the right inside panel inside across the top of Paul & George's portraits.

This 100% complete set includes both MONO discs (PMC 7067/8) along with all inserts.

All labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text but OMIT 'An EMI Recording'.

Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1 & YEX 710-1

Disc weight: 155g

Matrix numbers: XEX 711-1 & XEX 712-1

Stamper codes: 3/TH & 4/TG

Disc weight: 147g

This copy is 100% complete with both black inner-sleeves, UK-printed poster & 4 colour portrait photos & protector sheet

CONDITION

Cover: VERY GOOD +

Fully intact with moderate age-toning/discolouration throughout, without any major faults.

There is minor shelfwear to the corners and a single 'thumbnail' crease & small water stain towards the front top-opening edge.

There is a visible disc impression from storage on the rear panel & a scratch 3/4" scratch which has taken on some discolouration.

Both inside panels of the gatefold are clean & unblemished.

The spine's laminate has split at several places, all seams of both pockets are smooth, unstressed & unsplit.

Discs

Labels: Disc 1: EXCELLENT Disc 2: EXCELLENT +

There are multiple spindle trails around both centre holes of disc 1, but barely any on disc 2.

Visual: Disc 1: GOOD Disc 2: EXCELLENT

Disc 1 has been played many times and bears numerous light surface marks and scratches consistent with this. Disc 2 on the other hand appears barely played and bears no significant surface marks or wear.

Sound Quality: Disc 1: GOOD Disc 2: EXCELLENT

Disc 1 has been played a number of times and playwear is noticeable throughout. The only notable distraction on that disc is a moderate repeating click at the beginning of 'Martha My Dear'. Disc 2 has been barely and sounds totally unworn. My stylus repeated on one groove of 'Everybody's Got Something To Hide..', but apart from that there are no further faults or distraction.

Poster: VERY GOOD

Factory-folded and unhung with light handling wear and a few brown age-marks on the lyric side.

Photos: NEAR MINT

Protector sheet: EXCELLENT

Inner-sleeves: VERY GOOD -

One has a small missing piece of paper to its left seam but is otherwise intact and unworn.

The other has four tears to its central window but none to any seam.
