The Beatles - Beatles For Sale - Mit Cutistad

Label: Odeon, EMI Catalog#: 1C072-04200, 1C072-04200 Format: Vinyl, LP, Promo
Country: Germany Released: 1981 Genre: Rock Style: Rock & Roll, Pop Rock, Classic Rock Notes:

"THE BEATLES Beatles For Sale - Mit Cutistad (Monster rare 1981 German lp issued in unique outer picture sleeve to promote cutistad - a german pharmacutical company. Though at 25 years old it can be considered young when compared to Beatles rarities from the 60's it should not be dismissed, as it can easily be compared in scarcity to some of the rarest originals from that period.

This promo pack was issued by the German pharmacutical company Cutistad. It is believed that fewer than 200 of these outer sleeves were produced and distributed to company executives of prospective new clients.

The Vinyl
The album is a regular German issue from 1981 with green Odeon label. It has machine stamped matrix numbers.

The Picture Sleeve
The sleeve is exactly the same as if you'd purchased this album in Germany in 1981. It is a single pocket picture sleeve with 'Beatles For Sale' in bold black letters at the top of the sleeve. This differs from both the UK and US versions of the sleeve. A faithful reproduction of the German original. There is an EMI/Odeon logo in the top left hand corner (on the front) of the picture sleeve.
The rear of the sleeve contains a black and white group shot of the band (as used on the Italian 'I Favolosi' LP) and some text by Derek Taylor.

Outer Sleeve
The all important outer sleeve is in effect a slipcase with an opening in the right hand side in which you slide the album (and sleeve) into. The design is completely different to any other image used on a Beatles sleeve, unique!

The front of the outer sleeve
At the top of the sleeve the text proclaims 'Beatles For Sale' in bold black letters in the same font as the regular German album, below this are four cartoons of indescribable purple heads (perhaps supposed to represent the Fab Four), below this the text 'Mit Cutistad' in blue and red letters.

The rear of the outer sleeve
The rear of the sleeve is blank except for some German text stating 'Mit Freundlichen Grussen' and underneath that 'Stada Arzneimittel AG, 6368 Bad Vilbel 4' "

It's worth noting that only a few copies of this album have surfaced onto the collectors market (via auction) in the last 3 years and neither was in the spectacular condition of this copy - don't miss out! Vinyl + Picture Sleeve absolutely mint!  Cutistad cover in near mint. Absolutly collectable. Insured shipping only. Shipping inside Germany 5€.
