THE BEATLES Sgt. Pepper FINLAND PMC 7027 Rare 1967 Mono LP .

For sale a rare FINNISH PARLOPHONE 1967 Mono LP

THE BEATLES Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

PMC 7027
Record Made in Finland, UK gatefold Mono sleeve, inner sleeve and insert

THIS IS THE RARE FINNISH MONO PRESSING

Only two Beatles Lp’s were pressed in Finland in the 60’s with the Yellow & Black Parlophone label: ”Sgt. Pepper” (Mono & Stereo)  and ”A Collection of Beatles Oldies” (Mono & Stereo). The quantities were very small, probably just a couple of hundreds, and the UK pressings of the two LP’s are much more common also in Finland.

The Finnish pressings can be identified from the details of the label which is identical with other contemporary Finnish Parlophone releases, more information about this can be found from the web (but don’t look Discogs for ”the Finnish Pepper”, it is yet to be properly listed there). The copyright text (Alla rättigheter...") is in Swedish, the second official language of Finland, which has lead many to think of this (as well as some other records) as a Swedish pressing instead, but in fact "Pepper" was first pressed in Sweden only in the 70's with black and silver labels. The label layout was copied from Sweden to Finland some time after mid-60's and Finnish EMI pressed some albums by Finnish artists with the same label, too. The typography is similar with many Finnish EMI releases, as well as the "N.C.B." credit which is always spelled NCB in other Nordic countries.

Condition of the record : VG+(++) lots of very faint hairlines can be seen in bright light, nothing feelable. Plays well! Excellent pressing on heavy vinyl. The record is rare in any condition but this copy is still very enjoyable to listen.

Cover is VG+, very nice G&L UK MONO cover, some wear on spine (only the record was pressed in Finland, UK covers and inserts were used in the release)

Comes with nice VG+ insert (UK) and plain white inner sleeve (probably original).

Matrix numbers:

Side 1: XEX 637-1 / 4 (mother, 9 o’clock) no stamper letter (as usual with non-UK pressings)

Side 2: XEX 638-1 / 4 (mother, 9 o’clock) no stamper letter
