THE SMITHS - Big Mouth Strikes Again TEST PRESSING

ULTRA RARE WHITE LABEL 7"

Rough Trade, RT192, 1985, UNITED KINGDOM

TRACKLIST: Big Mouth Strikes Again/Money Changes Everything

This, quite simply, an absolutely STUNNING copy of the SUPER RARE White label TEST PRESSING of 'Big Mouth Strikes Again.' Pressed up to check the mastering and vinyl pressing, and also as promotional give-away to journalists, this record is a big boy. The 7" comes complete with the original 7" picture sleeve.

The rarity of this 7" can't be understated, I think. It is my understanding that promotional white labels of Smiths records were pressed up on 12" by this time.. meaning the amount of 7" Test Pressings of 'Big Mouth...' must be pretty low.

SIDE 1's Run-off groove has the legend 'Beware The Wrath to Come' and has the matrix number RT192A-1U-1-1-X1

SIDE 2's Run-ff groove has the legend 'Talent Borrows Genius Steals' and has the matrix number RT192B-1U-1-1-X1.

This week I am off-loading some other rare Moz and Smiths vinyl so check out my other listings. If anyone would like to message me about this item then please do, I'd love to hear from other fanatics.

CONDITION OF VINYL: NEAR MINT In the interests of veracity and truthfulness I have pored over the playing surface of this record and can find NO blemishes whatsoever. I never grade anything unsealed as MINT, but I really which I could for this record. There is NO needlwear, no marks or paper scuffs. The vinyl surface is shiny and glossy and has absolutely NO SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED! I kid thee not. There is a very, very faint spindlemark on SIDE A's white label but that really is knit picking, THIS RECORD IS JAW-DROPPING!

CONDITION OF SLEEVE: EXCELLENTThe Sleeve was NEAR MINT before I gingerly attempted to peel off a sticker on the upper left hand corner and unfortunately a bit of the sleeve came off with it. As you know the sleeve itself is pretty common with the stock copy of the 'Big Mouth' single, so you should have no problem finding a mint replacement. Please see the photo for further inspection. Apart from this the sleeve is in lovely condition; stiff and unmarked. There's a very very light crease on the top of the sleeve but I only mention this for thoroughness... most sellers wouldn't!

Be assured that I am quite meticulous in my description and always grade fairly and using the Record Collector Grading System (if perhaps a little harsher in my grading!!!). I always send items well packed and quickly. GOOD LUCK!!!
