The GODS – ‘GENESIS.’ This is the UK 1968 first Pressing on the Blue / Black Columbia label with original Hipgnosis cover art!. The Gods were the musical launch pad for Utah Heep members Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake and 'Genesis' was their first studio album. On the cusp of the prog rock revolution this LP sets it’s controls for the heart of the UK Psych sound. Re issued and often hyped this LP deserves the adulation it has received over the years and is a difficult LP to find in any condition. CONDITION:
A note on grading I use the Record Collector grading system with the addition of a (+) or a (-) to denote a slight increase or decrease in condition. Items described with an aural grade have been carefully played on a Thorens TD-124 MKII with an SME 3012 Tonearm and Ortofon SPU moving Coil Cartridge.

Record:
The deeply seductive full glossy sheen of the surfaces feature a full lustre under direct angled light, and only light fine scuffs under direct angled light. The disk is flat with no warp or buckle of any kind. The wonderful Blue / Black STEREO Columbia labels show light signs of use to the spindle hole only. There is no writing, rips, stickers or other detractors. Overall grade both visually and aurally = EX (Excellent ) …Please take the time to study the images above and listen to the sound clips which I hope illustrate the condition of this record far better than wordy descriptions
Cover:
The front laminated Hipgnosis cover has retained much of it’s original colour, the edges are arrow straight and the corners display light bruising only to the top right. The spine is fully legible and the opening edge is sharp. Very minor laminate wrinkle close to the spine. The opening seam is straight and un feathered. The unlaminated back cover still retains much of it’s original whiteness. Both flip backs are complete and secure. Crease bottom right, No, writing, stickers, rips, seam splits or tears. Overall Grade = EX (Excellent) Please take the time to study the images above for a clear view of condition
