Description

I offer you a First State (original) extremely rare, collectible, 1966 The Beatles Yesterday And Today Mono record album T 2553 with the "infamous" Beatles Butcher Block cover. This is a prized collector piece which only pops up once in a while.

The "shocking" cover features the members of The Beatles posing with a bunch of chopped up meat pieces and decapitated fake babies. 

According to everything I have read, some copies made it out to retailers before Capitol pulled the plug. Estimates ranging around no more then several hundred copies at best. The balance of the First State were sent to DJ'S and record distributors as samples, no count taken. The balance were all removed, covered up or destroyed. The quantities are so low that I think if someone was able to release the actual number, the price would shoot up even further.

This 50 year old must have, is extremely limited and hard to find. The album was recorded in England and made in the USA. The record comes with a green and black inner sleeve which is in excellent condition. 2 minor flaws, a 3 inch split, not tear, at the seam and fold on the lower corner. The record is in near mint condition. The cover/jacket is in very good condition with some flaws which are outlined in the condition description.

THIS IS NOT A REISSUE. IT IS A FIRST STATE BUTCHER BLOCK COVER.

The record jacket/sleeve has a few areas of wear which are all photographed. There is was a small spot that has water damage on the top upper left front and back upper right. There is a 1 1/2 inch opening in the seam at the top left corner and is a small area that has a 3/4 inch split. The inside sleeve has a crease in the lower corner, seam split not tear, and a slit on the bottom center of the bottom. record is in mint condition.
