Description

QUO 3112 Fakin' The Blues, spiral Vertigo label

This single was never released. It was planned to issue an edited version of Fakin' The Blues from the Rock 'Til You Drop album, as a single on the 28th October 1991. But the release date was put back to the 11th November and the release was then cancelled as Rock 'Til You Drop was issued as a single instead. This 12" version includes both an edited and the album version of Fakin' The Blues. With the release cancelled most of the copies pressed were destroyed by the record company, with only a few surviving.

I have done some research and can't find any record of a 12" version of this being sold. I can't even find a photo of one. It seems a few 7" versions have been sold, with one priced at £2,500.

I am selling this on behalf of a friend, who owns a record shop but does not use the internet. This is very difficult to put a price on, hence the decision to use an eBay auction.

The record is in great condition. The sleeve has a few wear marks on the extreme edges. The vinyl has a few very light hairline marks. It plays fine, with a few crackles at the start. It would probably benefit from a clean. I'd probably say it was EX, maybe high VG/low EX if you're very fussy. There are a few marks on the labels, as pictured.

The record is with me, near Cambridge, and can be collected from me and inspected here too. Otherwise it will be posted at cost.

Please ask if you've any questions. Please don't ask I've got a buy it now price - as mentioned, the whole point of using the auction is that we don't know what price to put on it. So we'll let the market decide.

Good luck if you decide to bid.
