Description
On of the true holy grails of folk music collectors! This is the debut LP by Spriguns of Tolgus.
Released in 1975 on Alida Star recordings.
Catalogue number ASC7755
The record was given to folk legend Bert Jansch in October 1975, a few days before his 32nd birthday. It is inscribed on the back singer Mandy Morton. It reads to her Bert for a smashing Kerrah love from Mandy Morton and Mike Morton Spriggies. Then in the bottom left it reads happy birthday for Monday xx. See photos.
The vinyl itself is mint. the only sign of it actually being played is a VERY light spindle mark on each side. I imagine it has been played just once.
The Burlington press sleeve has some wear.
There are no splits but ringwear on the front and back one some discolouration on the left and top.
This is without doubt a piece of folk history.
