Description

This is Miles Davis' "Milestones" album, the original Columbia release.

The album was autographed by Miles in vintage black fountain pen on the cover. Miles used a fountain pen that had a sharp, angled nib, which gives a signature straighter lines (angled nibs on fountain pens can make it hard to write in a circular fashion like a ballpoint pen can).

There is rubbing on the album cover from the LP being kept in a stack. The album cover boasts a full figure of Miles with his horn (very rare to find one autographed). The fact that Miles signed in fountain pen indicates it was signed in the 1950's or 1960's, possibly even when the album came out--which makes the autograph far more evocative than autographs in marker or magic marker which were signed at a later date.

Given a place of honor in a new frame, this vintage jazz relic would look very impressive in your home, man den or office.

Miles recorded the album with his "first great quintet" which included drummer Philly Joe Jones and saxophonist John Coltrane, augmented to a sextet for this recording date with the addition of Cannonball Adderley.

AllMusic, the on-line music guide, in a current day review gives the album the most stars -- 5 Stars*****--calling it "a classic album with a memorable titled track".

Get it while you can. Enjoy!
