COMMENTS : Collector's dream...... Wonderful pristine original press of " Bus Dem Shut ( Pyaka)" from 1968. Bob Marley and the Wailing Wailers inna fine style. Read the text below to have some more informations about the first Marley's label WAIL 'N' SOUL M. :

Marley launched his first music business venture, Wail 'N Soul 'M, a record store and label based at his home at 18 Greenwich St. in Trenchtown.

Fed up with the exploitative practices of Jamaica's music business, the Wailers were clearly frustrated at not receiving what they figured was due to them. Bob's drive for self-determination was fueled by his increasing belief in Rastafari; after returning from Delaware, Bob sought the teachings of Mortimer Planner, Jamaica's Rastafarian elder.

In 1967, Marley's efforts culminated with musical independence. His first music business venture was called Wail 'N' Soul 'M, a record shop named after its first two acts, the Wailers and the Soulettes. Wail 'N' Soul 'M was also to be the name of the Wailers' label, issuing its first single, "Bend Down Low" appearing on the A side and "Mellow Mood" on the B side.

The shop and label brought independence, but they were hard work. Every time the Wailers came out with a new wax, the three members woulod personally take it round Kingston's record shops to feel the vibe. But it was Rita who took the copies round by hand, selling them into stores.

Despite the independence the shop and label brought, the group faced grim financial realities and couldn't raise capital to meet increasing demand for their records. The label folded, and after literally going back to his roots to farm his grandfather's land in St. Ann, the Wailers eventually signed a managment deal with Danny Sims in 1968
