Description
Artist: Johnny Acey.
LP title: MY HOME.
Record label: TURBO RECORD COMPANY, a division of ALL PLATINUM RECORDING COMPANY, TU-7010 (see comments below). The 45 RPM single titled MY HOME was recorded in 1968, so this LP must have been released the same year, as the liner notes thank "The Moments" and this group left ALL PLATINUM RECORDING COMPANY in 1969.
Song titles: I haven't a clue, because the back cover of the jacket does not list the songs on this LP. However, seasoned collectors of Blues, R&B, and Northern Soul will know which songs are on this mega rare LP.
Jacket condition: M-, only due to a bit of paper loss at the upper left corner and seam on the back cover where the shrink wrap has come loose (have a look at the close-up image). The colors on the front cover are so vivid that this jacket would make sensational cover art!
Vinyl and sound: Assuredly MINT.
Comments: Wow, this LP is about as rare as it gets! You will notice that the LP number on the back cover of the jacket is TU-7010, and the number on the spine is TU-7009. I don't know if all of the copies of this mega rare LP were released with this "typo" mistake, but this one surely was! If you haven't heard this sensational artist's music before, go to youtube.com, and search "Johnny Acey, I Go Into Orbit" and you will be blown away by this incredibly talented artist! The legendary vinyl collector John Tefteller has one of Johnny Acey's 45's listed in his October 15th Rare Blues/R&B Auction, with a starting bid of $50.
