Description

The Rolling Stones - 12x5 , Original UK Export Disc with Alternative Artwork Sleeve and Misprint.

A unique opportunity to acquire one of the rarest Rolling Stones releases ever !  Please check all worldwide Rolling Stones Discographies, you will not find this listed anywhere!

The Disc:  UK Export,  London ffrr "Made In England" grooved label, manufactured in the UK for the very first U.S.A "12x5" issue, some sources claim as few as 1,000 of these discs were pressed.

The Sleeve: This is the really interesting part... same style sleeve and reworked artwork as the very first Australian issues of this album.  Which were only availiable for 6 weeks before reverting to the standard artwork, however, there are two important differences as the Australian copies had Decca sleeves not LONDON !!!  In addition, Congratulations has been misprinted as "Congradulations" on the tracklisting for Side Two (see scan),  the label reads Congratulations.

I have only ever seen one other copy of this combination previously, I sold that privately to a long time serious Stones collector, he believed it to be a proof sleeve, this copy is probably in overall much better condition.  If you have any additional information on this item, please let me know, and if you wish I will happily share it with others.

Tracklisting:
Side One: Around and Around *** Confessin' the Blues *** Empty Heart *** Time is on my Side *** Good Times, Bad Times *** It's all Over Now
Side Two: 2120 South Michigan Avenue *** Under the Boardwalk *** Congratulations *** Grown up Wrong *** If you need Me *** Susie Q

Label: London (ffrr)
Cat No: LL 3402
Matrix No: ARL-6494-1A  / ARL-6493-2A
Year:  1964

Condition:
Sleeve:   I am not to sure how to grade this sleeve, it's really not as bad as the following description may suggest... it's probably easier to list it's flaws.  It's a unlaminated glossy "half-moon flipback" style sleeve.  There is a one inch spine split, a one inch split at the base and a half inch tear to the front by the opening all of these have been very carefully and neatly repaired, they hardly show, (see scans)if you would like close up scans of these repairs please email me.. Also, there is a small amount of feathering to the opening, a little mild creasing, a very small amount of mild discolouration (spotting) to the off-white parts of the sleeve along with a little corner wear.

Record:  VG , a number a light superfical scuffs, nothing very deep, the worst case scenario is that you may hear a little low level crackle between tracks, the disc retains a beautiful glossy lustre.

If you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to email me beofre the end of auction...!

I now accept Paypal, along with UK P.O., UK Cheques, Sterling Cash & Euro Cash.

The general consensus thus far ....

Is that this is some sort of proof sleeve which was destined to form a UK EXPORT issue, apparently this idea was abandoned.
