VERY rare ...especially in clean condition like this....1970 first pressing original in beautiful laminated gatefold cover...the first TULLY album...the music was recorded in 1969, and first released in 1970.

TULLY formed in Sydney in late 1968, and along with Tamam Shud (with whom they often performed) they were the dozens of the Sydney underground/progressive scene in the late 60's and early '70s. Their lyrical and expansive music and their interest in mysticism and esoteric philosophy was at some remove from the earthy blues/boogie ethos of contemporaries like The Aztecs, but they built up a strong following on the Sydney underground scene and the Melbourne concert circuit. Tully's members were all highly accomplished multi-instrumentalists, with years of experience behind them, and this musical breadth quickly earned them a reputation as one of the most adventurous and polished concert bands of the period.

Tully released two highly collected albums, this, their seldom seen first, and "Sea Of Joy" which was released a year later in 1971.

The first TULLY is a varied mix of tuneful psych & prog edges that are not that much different from the type of music being released in 1970 England on the Vertigo Records label with similarities of Cressida or even Gracious! ...Lots of keys throughout, some complex progressions. Highlight track is perhaps the opener "You Realize You Realize" which contains flipped out guitar leads that pan from speaker to speaker. Other tracks have flowing organ with melencholy vibes. There's even a track with voice recitations amid airy (keys) and chorale background... the album is hard to find to say the least, having been only the second copy we've seen in 25 years...
