1969 RARE BIKER SOUNDTRACK with FUZZROCK JAMS
THE NEW LIFE
THE SIDEHACKERS
\ USA - AMERET RECORD - SST 9004
RARE....Original 1969 first pressing collectible obscure BIKER soundtrack which features a wickedly obscure hip longhair band (see photo) named the NEW LIFE....Motorcycle racing movie madness with some choice fuzzed-up guitar injections amid the usual exploitation backdrops
3-D front cover (bring your own glasses)
The NEW LIFE formed out of the ashes of The Cindermen...who were a garage rock group signed by Moonglow Records in 1965. They released several 45s during their three year existence and became known to 60s garage collectors following their inclusion of 'Don't Do It Some More' on Pebbles Volume 8... The New Life was formed with myself, Don Whaley, Alan Shapazian (ex Raik's Progress), Phil Reed and Duane Scott (ex Raik's Progress) who was the original keyboard player. Steve Wood (ex Penthouse 5) replaced Duane after about a year into the band. The New Life enjoyed bands like Cream, Vanilla Fudge and so they evolved to heavier rock music with fuzz guitar. They signed with Ameret records and recorded a couple of singles and then Ameret hooked us up with Jerry Steiner and Mike Curb (eventual Lt. Governor of California) who were scoring the movie soundtrack "THE SIDEHACKERS" and got a few of their songs on the soundtrack album. They also had a few songs on another movie soundtrack called "Black Water Gold" ... The New Life broke up in 1970...
