PRINCE Ultra Rare GREY MARBLED VINYL "The Black Album" #5 of 50 / MINT, UNPLAYED

FROM THE ARCHIVE OF PRINCE ART DIRECTOR JEFF GOLD

Here’s an extraordinary opportunity to obtain one of 50 grey/marbled vinyl, numbered copies of Prince’s “The Black Album”, from the archive of Recordmecca’s own Jeff Gold, who was responsible for this ultra rarity. This unplayed and mint condition example is stamped #010 of 50 produced. Gold’s included letter of authenticity details it’s history: “This letter is to authenticate an ultra rare grey marbled-vinyl copy of Prince’s The Black Album. This example, #010, is one of 50 individually numbered copies pressed in 1994. While a senior executive at Warner Bros., I commissioned three limited edition promotional pressings of The Black Album: fifty numbered copies on grey marbled vinyl, 300 numbered copies on white vinyl, and 1000 unnumbered copies on peach colored vinyl. (Years later, Rockaway Records sold some rejected sample copies that surfaced in the warehouse of the pressing plant, Fitzgerald-Hartley. However this unplayed example is one of the original edition of 50, from my personal collection. While at Warner Bros. during the 1990’s, I worked closely with Prince, art directing numerous album covers for him, including “Diamonds & Pearls”, “Love Symbol” and “The Hits/The B-Sides”, and overseeing much of the marketing of his releases, including The Black Album (for more about this, see: recordmecca.com/news/working-with-prince/). This is a superb unplayed copy of a highly sought after Prince collectible, with a very low number, and perfect provenance, and Recordmecca’s lifetime guarantee of authenticity. We welcome International buyers and ship around the world every week.

US & Canada Shipping: $9 for 1-2 LP's by insured Priority Mail (Ebay’s recent rule change requires us to offer Media Mail shipping for records, at $4.00 for 1 LP. As this is a very slow method of shipping and uninsured, we cannot guarantee safe delivery by this method and strongly recommend paying extra for the much quicker and safer Priority Mail.) $15 for 1-2 posters, shipped priority mail in a new mailer/tube & US orders are automatically insured for up to $200 in value. Calif. buyers add 8.75% sales tax (calculated automatically by Paypal.) All other items shipped at cost.

International Shipping: $16 for 1 LP airmail without insurance. $4 for each additional LP; $21 for 1-2 posters. All other items shipped at cost. Because of problems with the Italian Post Office, we highly recommend either insured or registered mail for all Italian orders and cannot be responsible for any order shipped to Italy without one or the other of these.
