Description

Pink Floyd--Radio Spots For "Live At Pompeii"--AF-Floyd-1/2, 1974.  Ultra-rare radio spots for Pink Floyd's--Live At Pompeii.  Sometimes the movie was just known as "Pink Floyd".  The movie was originally intended for release in 1972 with eight tunes.  It was released in 1974 for theatres with an additional three tunes from Dark Side Of The Moon and some interviews with band members.  These radio spots were intended for the 1974 theatrical version.  Each side has six radio spots.  Side 1 spots are noted as "Original Radio Spot Announcements" and has four 60-second and two 30-second spots.  Side 2 spots are noted as "Revised Radio Spot Announcements" and has five-60 second spots and one 30-second spots.  The tracks are banded and have to be cued manually for each track.  Side One spots are more than likely the spots that were heard on the radio, primarily the FM-stations.  The spots on Side 2 are a mixture of serious and supposedly-comedic spots.  I have made some soundclips of spots on each side.  Please keep in mind that I had to keep cueing different areas, due to the tracks being banded, so that it may sound like there are skips, but that is not the case.  The record plays through each track fine.  The vinyl is VG+  with nice gloss which is somewhat remarkable.  When you do find these old radio spots, they often look like a piece of asphalt!  However, the quality of the vinyl is substandard and there are some scattered pressing blisters, primarily on Side 2.  The record will play right through them and there is actually only one that is quite noisy.  You'll hear it at the end of the second group of clips.  The labels are clean.  The deadwax is hand-etched:  AF-Floyd-A and AF-Floyd-B for their respective sides.  Needless to say, this is a very rare Pink Floyd collectible.  Please e-mail if you should have any questions.  Please disregard the automatically-generated invoice from eBay and wait for my invoice.  Postage with insurance will be $7.50 for U.S. and Canada, $15.00 for overseas.
