PINK FLOYD "Dark Side Of The Moon" 1st PRESS - UNPLAYED

*COMPLETE* AND UNTOUCHED SINCE 1973, STUNNING UK COPY

PINK FLOYD
The Dark Side Of The Moon

ORIGINAL UK HARVEST (SHVL 804) SOLID BLUE TRIANGLE FIRST PRESSING (March 1973) OF PINK FLOYD'S LEGENDARY AND ICONIC "The Dark Side Of The Moon" LP - IN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING CONDITION - THIS COPY HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED - AND YOU DON'T NEED ME TO TELL YOU HOW IMPOSSIBLY RARE THAT IS - I CERTAINLY HAVE NEVER SEEN AN UNPLAYED FIRST PRESSING IN ALL MY YEARS OF COLLECTING AND SELLING AND I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT I WILL EVER SEEN ANOTHER SO IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT THIS ONE IS VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INDEED

PRESSED WITH THE CUSTOM SOLID BLUE PRISM LABELS WITH "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD." TOP RIM TEXT
MARTIX: SHVL 804 A-2 / SHVL 804 B-2
MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 2/HR and 2/GO
THE RECORD IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE MATT GATEFOLD SLEEVE "Printed and made by Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd.”, DATE CODED '7303' (1973, March) WHICH IS VERY DARK BLUE IN COLOUR AND HAS THE FACTORY SEALED LEFT SIDE EDGE (there is no fold-under)
AND THE SET COMES COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL BLACK POLY-LINED INNER SLEEVE WITH PATENT NUMBERS AND "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" TEXT PRINTED IN GREY/SILVER
AND BOTH ORIGINAL POSTERS AND STICKERS

LABELS: The labels are just as they were in 1973 - clean, unmarked and like-new with no spindle traces or any signs of use at all - MINT
VINYL Visual: Both playing surfaces retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and at first glance appear completely unmarked - not even any wispy hairlines visible under a bright light. But on playback I noticed a few clicks on "Us and Them" and on close inspection with a magnifying glass there are some tiny marks at this point - and I do mean very, very tiny and hard to spot (see detailed audio assessment below). Otherwise, the surfaces are pristine. Another point of note (for complete accuracy) is that the vinyl undulates very lightly when revolving on the turntable - but it's very minor and shallow and has absolutely no effect on the playback on my system - Critically graded a visual MINT (apart from the tiny marks which are really hard to see)
VINYL Audio: This copy sounds absolutely sensational and plays with a beautifully deep, rich and warm sound for which this first pressing is justly famous. On playback at a very loud volume there are no major audio issues of note - the pressing is exceptionally clean with only the occasional light static 'tick' (of a new record) which will no doubt disappear after a few plays. The tiny, tiny marks mentioned above (a small cluster of three, each less than a millimetre in size) give rise to a few clicks as they are passed over but these are mostly during the loud section of "Us and Them", are background and are nothing I found at all intrusive. Otherwise, the playback is pristine and I have every confidence that this copy has NEVER been played (apart from my one careful play-grading). Critically graded MINT for audio (apart from the aforementioned tiny blemishes on Side Two)
SLEEVE: The soft backed matt gatefold cover is also in practically untouched condition. It is clean and unmarked with crisp, sharp edges and spine (no text of course on the spine) and only some light record impression to the outer surfaces showing as a little storage rubbing to the back. The inside is like new - EXCELLENT+
POSTERS: The two posters (folded, one inside the other, as they were inserted into the sleeve at the factory) are untouched and only opened for my photographs - MINT
STICKER: The two stickers are again, as-new - MINT
INNER SLEEVE: The original black, poly-lined inner is clean and unmarked with no damage or splits and again, has the appearance of never being handled - MINT

PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I USUALLY TAKE QUITE A FEW SO YOU CAN GET A CLEAR INDICATION OF EVERY DETAIL OF THE ITEM
I HAVE UPLOADED AS MANY AS I CAN BUT I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SUPPLY ANY ADDITIONAL PHOTOS ON REQUEST
AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, UNPLAYED COPY (shame about the tiny marks but they could well have been done at the factory) AND TO USE ONE OF EBAYS' MOST OVER-USED PHRASES - 'IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS' - BUT IN THIS CASE I THINK IT'S TRULY APPLICABLE - COPIES LIKE THIS ARE ONLY EVER SEEN ONCE IN A BLUE MOON (I'VE NEVER SEEN AN UNPLAYED COPY BEFORE) - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE
PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE RARE AND COLLECTABLE VINYL
AND PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUERIES YOU MAY HAVE
THANKS FOR LOOKING, CHEERS

I HAVE HAD MANY ENQUIRIES ABOUT ANY DISTORTION WHICH MAY BE PRESENT ON THIS PRESSING
BUT I CAN ONLY ADD THAT THE RECORD IS, IN MY OPINION, COMPLETELY UNPLAYED - SO ANY DISTORTION IS INHERENT WITH THIS PRESSING
THE PINK FLOYD ARCHIVE WEBSITE, WHICH IS A DEFINITIVE SOURCE COMMENTS ABOUT THIS FIRST ISSUE;
"Pressings that use A-2 / B-2 lacquers have minor sound quality issues, particularly during the song, Money. Some copies also have a skip pressed into the grooves during the song Money. Such issues were corrected with the A-3 / B-3 cuttings, with the exception of the peak level distortion during the clocks at the beginning of the song Time (the MFSL UHQR LP is the only vinyl pressing without such distortion)."
THIS COPY DOES NOT 'SKIP' AT ANY POINT AND ANY 'DISTORTION' IS MINIMAL - I STAND BY MY GRADING
