Description

Here´s an original copy of PATERNOSTER - Same, released 1972 in Austria on CBS (old, orange) 64958. Oh yes, it's THE european psychedelic masterpiece which is sooooo rare. I started to search for it in 1989, found all band members (incl. the regular drummer Hans Hauser which is not on the LP because he didn't come back at the time from a Greece-holidays and so the totally unknown to the band session drummer Gerhart Walenta helped out), producer Jerry Rosen and cover painter Bernhard Paul (today well known with his circus), Gerhard Bronner (the owner of the Quodlibet-Studios were the album has been recorded in 6 hours) and of course CBS in Vienna. NOTHING was to get directly from them all, two band members even hadn't an own copy. But they helped me to find friends of them which could perhaps have a copy and it took me many years to find 16 copies all in all which went into collections immediately. Only one of them was really mint. I guarantee that this top rarity will never come in quantity, 95% of the copies you saw offered in the 90ies came from me and this is my last spare copy. Mastermind Franz Wippel told me that 470 copies were sold and the rest of the 1000 destroyed by CBS Vienna in 1983. And here's your chance....take it. Never offered on ebay as far as I know.

The Band wasn't a real band but 4 friends (2 from Linz/2 from Tirol) and they were all students in Vienna. They gave just 4 concerts, one of them in the well known "Rosenstüberl" in Linz and three in the Semmering area in the south from Vienna.

Condition cover: m-(-), the fragile sleeve is in fantastic shape. The front cover has light discolouration along the spines and some yellowing on top right from removed sticker. The backcover shows also light yellowing along the spines and a yellow spot (1 cm) on bottom. A bit!! dirty along backspine. Spines themselves are perfect and believe me...this condition can hardly be toped.

Condition record:vg(-), it has rather a lot visual hairlines and paperscuffs, also some not so deep marks. In difference to other Austrian CBS records of the time (Klockwerk Orange, Isaiah) this one has a fantastic pressing quality. It sounds fresh, loud and dynamic. Of course it has it's background crackles, sometimes more sometimes less. Often it plays vg++, sometimes vg-. Of course no sticks or jumps. IT'S STILL A HIGHLY COLLECTABLE COPY..........so take it now or never.

Condition labels: mint(-)

Please take notice that this condition is absolutely guaranteed so if you´re not satisfied I will of course give FULL REFUND EXCEPT YOUR POSTAGE FEES to send the record back.

I should mention that my gradings are visualy AND audible taken on a Wilson Benesch Act Two turntable armed with Sumiko Blue Point Special cartridge and this combination is absolutely merciless and doesn't lie...I'm just a collector and don't like overgraded records so much...
