Description
This is an ULTRA MEGA RARE 10" STEREO 33 VINYL PROMO PICTURE DISC SINGLE titled XANADU recorded by OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN with the ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA. The song is from the soundtrack of the 1980 movie musical in which Olivia starred. Produced by MCA Records, the picture disc is two-sided, one side showing a beautiful picture of Olivia from the film's poster and the other side showing two photos of Olivia from the film's conclusion as well as the ELO Logo. The tune "Xanadu" is featured on both sides. The numbers MC 18384 and L-2315 are pressed into the middle grooves of each side. The disc plays beautifully! It comes in its original clear plastic sleeve with flap.
According to various sources, this picture disc was destined to be given away promotionally, but Olivia found the main photo not to her liking and pulled the release. Only 31 copies are known to exist, and are extremely valuable!
I have had this item in my collection for over 20 years but it is now time to let someone else have the joy of owning a truly gorgeous and Tremendously Rare Olivia Newton John item from her 1980's heyday! It would be almost impossible to easily find another one of these!
