Description
I'm an audio enthusiast clearing out some little-used items to make space for new purchases.
This box set is one of the very best items in my LP collection but I realised the other day that I never actually play it so I've reluctantly decided to sell it. It's the 2009 Neil Young Official Release Series Discs 1-4 vinyl LP box set which includes Neil Young's first four solo albums, remastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and pressed on top quality 180g vinyl by Pallas in Germany.
Only 3,000 of these box sets were ever produced and from memory you could only obtain them direct from Warner Bros or through the Neil Young fan club. (I bought this one direct from the Warner Bros.) The box, and every LP within the box, was individually stamped with the same Limited Edition number and my number is 002590. Amazingly, Warner Bros offered to replace any LP in the set that showed any sign of imperfection so immediately after receiving my set, I play tested it carefully throughout and found I had a perfect set.
Apart from the initial play-through on my Michell Orbe turntable with SME V tonearm and AT33PTG/II moving coil cartridge, this box set has sat virtually unused in a cupboard since 2009. The LPs have no spindle marks or any other signs of use. After taking the picture you see here, I cleaned all the records on my Keith Monks record cleaning machine to remove any dust or traces of manufacturing residue.
The beautifully-made LP sleeves are in as-new condition and so is the box - there are no dings or bumped corners, not even a fingerprint. All the extras are present - the posters have never been unfolded - and everything is in as-new condition.
Before shipping, all the LPs will be taken out of their outer and inner sleeves and will be packed separately in spare inner sleeves. Everything will be packed extremely carefully in a tough cardboard box to avoid any possibility of damage.
