(BARELY EVER PLAYED  FROM NEW)! RAREST 1ST ISSUE LAMINATED FRONT GARROD & LOFTHOUSE FLIPBACK COVER RAREST  -1-1 MATRIX ENDINGS! ''1'' TO '1'' MOTHER STAMPERS THE EARLIST UK PRESSING!!

 (IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE LIKE THIS!!)

NEVER NEED TO UPGRADE FROM THIS AWESOME EARLIEST PRESSING!

Another from my personal collection! Purchased from new and initially only ever played to record to tape! This has been stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover, the way that I have always stored my records ,, which has obviously preserved the cover and vinyl for over 41 years!  The first thing to note, is that this is the rarest and original very first UK pressing which was only released for a very short period on the original Reprise 'Large Steamboat labels and then re-released on the Kinney small Steamboat labels! This pressing plays like new, absolutely stunning near cd quality on my systems! almost impossible to ever locate in any condition, but in this condition is a real dream for any avid Neal Young collectors, highly sought after and very collectable indeed!

The unique charactoristics of this album are laminated front only Garrod & Lofthouse cover The original flipbacks at the  rear of the covercover)! Also this has the earliest possible matrix stamped on the run off grooves -1 -1 matrix endings (pressed from the earliest possible master) issued with the 1st issue 'large steamboat' Reprise labels (only 1st UK press)  This is what makes this issue so collectable because they are so hard to locate, especially in this condition, vertually unplayed condition a true archive copy!!!

Neil Young Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere is Neil Young's second solo album and his first with backing band Crazy Horse. The album was produced by Neil Young and David Briggs and contains three of his most memorable songs: "Cinnamon Girl", "Down by the River", and "Cowgirl in the Sand", all of which were written when Young had a 103 °F (39.5 °C) fever!!.

Neil Percival Young, OC OM (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, musician, film director and activist. Young began performing as a solo artist in Canada in 1960. He then migrated to California in 1966, as part of Buffalo Springfield and established himself as the fourth member of Crosby, Stills & Nash. Due to Young's relationship with all band members diminishing to being too pertinacious for them to cooperate, he left both and forged a solo career, to success and critical acclaim. He has since become "one of the most respected and influential musicians of his generation". This distinctly derives in part from the longevity of his career, which has spanned for more than 40 years, with a continually challenging exploration of new musical ideas. Young has recorded 33 studio albums, the most recent of which was Fork in the Road (2009)!!.

Young's work is characterized by his deeply personal lyrics, distinctive guitar work,[ and signature tenor singing voice. Although he accompanies himself on several different instruments, including piano and harmonica, his clawhammer acoustic guitar and often idiosyncratic electric guitar playing are the defining characteristics of a sometimes ragged, sometimes melodic sound. Although Young has experimented widely with differing music styles, including swing and electronic music throughout a varied career, his best known work usually falls into either of two distinct styles: acoustic folk and country rock and electric-charged hard rock, in collaboration with the band Crazy Horse. In recent years, Young has adopted elements from newer styles such as alternative rock and grunge. His profound influence on the latter caused some to dub him "the Godfather of Grunge". The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website begins their article on Young stating him to be "one of rock and roll’s greatest songwriters and performers". He was inducted into the Hall of Fame twice; first as a solo artist in 1995 and secondly as a member of Buffalo Springfield in 1997. Young has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and has won once!!.

Young has directed (or co-directed) a number of films using the pseudonym Bernard Shakey, including Journey Through the Past (1973), Rust Never Sleeps (1979), Human Highway (1982), Greendale (2003), and CSNY/Déjà Vu (2008). He is currently working on a documentary about electric car technology, tentatively titled Linc/Volt. The project involves a 1959 Lincoln Continental converted to hybrid technology, which Young plans to drive to Washington, D.C. as an environmentalist example to lawmakers there!!.

Young is an outspoken advocate for environmental issues and the welfare of small farmers, having co-founded in 1985 the benefit concert Farm Aid. In 1986, Young helped found The Bridge School, an educational organization for children with severe verbal and physical disabilities, and its annual supporting Bridge School Benefit concerts, together with his wife Pegi Young (née Morton). Young has three children: Zeke (born during his relationship with actress Carrie Snodgress), Ben and Amber Jean (born to his wife Pegi). Zeke and Ben were diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and Amber Jean, like Young himself, with epilepsy!!.

Young lives on his ranch in La Honda, California. Although Young has lived in northern California since the 1970s and sings as frequently about U.S. themes and subjects as he does about his native country, he retains Canadian citizenship, which he has never wanted to relinquish. On July 14, 2006, Young was awarded the Order of Manitoba. On December 30, 2009, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada!!!

The Vinyl

On initial inspection of the playing surface This looks Awesome!  Still retaining its original deep glossy sheen from new!! LOOK SUPERBE! It is hard to even see a blemish! Any that could possibly be seen would be whispy sleeve removal marks, only!!!

The Audio Quality

I have carefuly played this through track for track as usual prior to listing and the audio is truly awesome  certainly (no) jumps or skips CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT ON ALL FREQUENCIES! This is one of the best that you will find of this pressing TOP! TOP! AUDIO WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS! This sounds and looks like new in my opinion it has only ever been played by me just a few times only perhapes 8 or 9 times if that,,  certainly not overplayed!! Unbeleivable for an original, rarest 1st pressing that is 41 years old!!!! This is clear and vibrant with, of course (no) signs of distortion or that this has been over played at all!!!  In my opinion this looks and plays Top! on all frequencies! One of the best sounding copies that I have heard, the seperation and vibrancy is to die for (only found like this on the earliest 1st pressings, later re-press can not compare in my opinion!!!

I would grade this audio as near mint absolutely stunning throughtout never need to upgrade from this vinyl!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion as usual when describing the audio quality. I heard no  problems Please allow for the odd isolated static\tick ! Please remember that this is an original 41 year old vinyl that has been played and would have originally been played on a 41 year old system and would benefit from a clean before each play!!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 40 years! From my experiance this vinyl would benefit from a constant clean before each play! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves over a period of laying dormant, produces static crackle\ticks and constant cleaning reduces this static and subsequently enhances the audio quality!

The labels!

These are the original 1st issue 'Large Steamboat' Reprise  labels (correct for this earliest pressing) They are SUPERBE  condition!!   It is hard for me to just barely see light spidering only when  angled to the light. This has only been played by me a few times ever and on a top system!! (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round and very tight around the spindle hiole! (SEE PHOTOS) Amaizing Condition!

The Record sleeve

This is the original plain white poly lined  without splits or tares just light creasing with age! Original in superbe condition!

The cover

This is the original 1st issue  fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover 'Laminated front only' ,flipback rear! in very near as pristine condition, looks almost like it did the day that this was purchased from the record shop 41 years ago! This has been stored in a case seperated from the vinyl in a case which has preserved this for all of this time! (no)  rubbing! Super, super glossy laminate!  There are no splits or tares (no) nasty handwriting and amaizingly any minor creases, you would have to look for to notice, just minor indeed , apart from a minor half moon shaped laminate creases which has been there from the day that I purchased it!  (very hard to notice unless scrutinised and looked for ) Graded as at least excellent plus if not better! Very rare like this!!
