VISUAL :
N new, sealed, unopened
M mint, opened but no signs of use
NM near mint, almost new with 2-3 hair lines possible
EX+ excellent plus, very clean & shiny with little evidence of play or sleeve removal
EX excellent, some light scuffs or hair lines, light marks of sleeve removal, no scratches
EX- excellent minus, lot of hair lines (hair lines are not scratches !), no scratches
VG+ very good plus, one to a few superficial scratches & scuffs (general light wear to shellac record)
VG very good, pronounced wear, lack of gloss, several scratches
G good, pronounced wear, lack of gloss, numerous scratches, but possibly still playable (this grade refers to shellac records only)
AUDIO :
M like new, perfect sound
NM almost perfect sound with a few light pops possible
EX+ occasional slight crackles
EX slight crackles through
VG medium crackles but not overpowered music, no skips, no jumps
G high crackles but no skips or jumps.
