Description

Both sides of the record have 203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J. address. The same address is at the bottom of the back cover. Deep groove. The initials "RVG" are inscribed in the dead wax. Miles Davis, trumpet on all 8 tracks. 4 tracks also include John Lewis, piano; Charlie Mingus, piano (on 1 track); Percy Heath, bass; Max Roach, drums.  Recorded in 1953.  3 tracks with the same personnel as above but Horace Silver, piano;Art Blakey, drums. Recorded in 1954. 1 track with the Miles Davis 5 includes Davey Schildkraut , alto sax; Silver, piano; Heath, bass; Kenny Clarke, drums.  Recorded in 1954.

Cover:   VG    1 1/2" split on the top edge; 1"split on the bottom edge.  Both at the insert edge.  Light, uneven aging on the back cover.

Record:  VG++   Visually shows no wear.  A few, faint, brush-like surface rub marks on Side A; 1 rub mark on Side B.  Most of the rub marks are barely  visible and do not affect the sound. 1 click at the end of Track 1, Side A and 1 faint click on the last revolution on Track 4, Side A. Slight groove noise on the 1st revolution of Track 1, Side B.  This is extremely light and barely audible. On Track 3, Side B, 2 or 3 revolutions have slight groove noise, also barely audible and 2 or 3 faint clicks. On Track 4, Side B there are 3 or 4 light clicks and slight groove noise for 2 or 3 revolutions. As mentioned all the noise is slight and barely audible.  I have graded the record conservatively. Audibly checked.
