Up for auction is the 19 2-disk vinyl LP Big Fun by Miles Davis on the Columbia Records.  Original USA release - not an off-label re-issue, reproduction, or repackaged record.  Personnel: Bass – Ron Carter, Bass Clarinet – Bennie Maupin, Drums – Billy Cobham, Electric Bass [Fender Bass] – Harvey Brooks, Electric Guitar – John McLaughlin, Electric Piano – Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Percussion – Airto Moreira Sitar [Electric], Tambura – Bihari Sharma, Khalil Balakrishna, Soprano Saxophone – Steve Grossman, and Trumpet – Miles Davis

Disk 1: Side 1 EX - Side 2: EX - Disk 2: Side 3: EX/G Side 4: EX/G
Disk 1 is nice and shiny with no issues.  Disk 2 is also nice and shiny, but has a few shallow paper scratches and sleeve scuffs (2 on Side 3, 1 or 2 on Side 4).  Both disks are in plain paper sleeves with some yellowing of paper stock.  Please note: rating of disk is based on a visual inspection.  To prevent any damage in shipment record will be shipped out of jacket.
Cover:  EX
Cover: standard double gatefold slipcase jacket- overall excellent appearance - nice square corners - minor shelf wear on back and front, but there are two vertical thin scrapes on front of jacket (see photo) - no labels or stickers

My ratings for records strive to be simple, accurate, tend to be conservative, and are as follows.  Please note: if I have not recently played the record, my assessment is solely based on a visual inspection under a strong light, and obviously, my ratings could be out of whack and there could be playback issues.
For Disks:
Mint (M) - only used for sealed, as purchased, and obviously, never played (but see note below on sealed records, if applicable). 
Excellent (EX): No scratches, skips, pops, clicks, scuffs, a clean, glossy surface - very little evidence of having been played – a clean glossy surface.
Good (G): a few short, shallow scratches producing pops or clicks but no skips, minor scuffing, overall clean, glossy surface.
Fair (F): minor scratches, scuffs, some manufacturing defects, no skips.
Poor (P): numerous scratches, scuffs - a few isolated skips (I will offer records with a small number of skips only if the item is somewhat rare - and the skip may be “worked around” with better playback equipment than I have).
Not Applicable (NA):  for sealed records as the disk cannot be examined
For Record Jackets:
Mint (M) - sealed, shrink wrapped, as purchased and no cut-out hole, notches, slits, straight clipped corners, circular clipped corners, metal ferrule inserts, clean edged hole, ragged edged hole, under shrink wrap damage, labels, stickers, bumped or smushed corners, bends, creases, nothing, nada, zip.
Excellent (EX): May have shrink wrap and may be sealed, no writing, wear rings, bends, a clean surface, may have cut-out or hole punched through cover
Good (G): clean, no writing, minor staining, small amount of disk/shelf wear - some defects that may be found under shrink wrap
Fair (F): minor staining, wear, or writing, minor splits on seams
Poor (P): major staining, wear, and/or writing, seam(s) split (offered at auction only if the item is somewhat rare)

Item is sold as is.  If you have a problem with the listing then let me know before bidding – especially if I have made an error or have not been able to find definitive information regarding a listing.  Any missed issues or discrepancies in the listing on my part will be resolved before the record is shipped.  Returns will only be accepted based on a misrepresentation or omission on my part – not, for instance, on a difference of opinion on what is or is not a scuff or a scratch.  I will refund postage, (but not return Postage)– and Buyer is required to send back item in same box and using the same method of shipping.  I will not pre-purchase eBay shipping labels.  Refund will be issued after I have received item.  If you do not like these requirements look elsewhere.  Finally, there are no returns for International Orders without a domestic mailing address.

Please note that I only do minimal cleaning of records and recommend that the buyer clean and/or repair the record or jacket according to their preference.  My records have been stored for an extended period of time in a cool, dry, basement and may have some fine dirt or dust on its surface and static buildup, especially records that have been played before.  I usually wipe the outer jacket and disk with a damp lint-free cloth.  This is not a deep groove cleaning of the disk and there usually is some small buildup of dust and static on the vinyl’s surface.  I usually catch my fingerprints.

Shipping: Buyer to pay actual shipping charges to be determined after the end of auction.  Please note: there is a $1.00 handling charge (includes inserts and shipping box).  Packages will be shipped Media Mail – postage does not include insurance, which is extra, if desired.  Media Mail does include tracking.  Will use Priority Mail if quicker shipping is purchased by buyer.  Priority Mail does include insurance and tracking.  Paypal accepted for payment (but ask about other forms of payment).  Any item over $25 and shipped Media Mail has to be insured by the buyer.

Winner will be contacted after close of auction.  Will always combine items to lower exorbitant shipping fees.  Can ship up to 3 single-disc records per box, additional boxes will be at a charge of $.50 per box.  Payment is expected within 5 days of auction’s close, but I will accept delayed payment and will delay shipping if you are bidding on an active auction(s).  Finally, please do not ask for special handling that will substantially increase the weight of the package after you have sent payment.  Thanks for looking.
