Mob: Crying Again /Youth; UK All the Madmen Records MOB 001 (1979)
Extremely rare and highly sought-after debut single released in 1979 by the Somerset-based anarcho-punk band and Crass collaborators on their own independent "All the Madmen" label.
The band's initial line up featured Marc Mob (vocals, guitar), Curtis (bass), Graham (drums). Both sides are excellent examples of DIY anarcho-punk of the era, with overtones of dub evident, somewhat reminiscent of early PIL.
Other English second wave punk bands that sharing a similar vision musically and lyrically with The Mob were the Southern Death Cult, UK Decay, Theatre of Hate, Flux of Pink Indians, and Rudimentary Peni.
The single comes with picture sleeve, white hand-stamped label and folded typed A4 lyric insert all in excellent condition (see scans below).
Condition (record/sleeve): EX / EX. Very slight surface noise (listen to clips of both sides), otherwise plays superbly.
