Description
(MC5) V/A Gold-Original Soundtrack (UK Mother MO-4001) M- with VG++ cover with minor edge wear which has 1" x 3" black magic marker mark inside jacket. Beautiful keeper copy of 1972 UK release with 2 UNIQUE 1971 MC5 tracks "Inside Out" and "Train Music" (both written by Tyner/Kramer/Smith/Thompson) that were used in this countercultural movie. Has other artists (David McWilliams, Barry St John, Beastlly Times, Sailcat, & Howard Casey) plus the groovy dialogue from the movie but the reason you NEED THIS is for the TWO Motor City 5 cuts and I've included sound files for you to hear them. They were never released on any other record so this is the only way to get them. This shows their wild Sun Ra-influenced sound during their final daze.
Recording sessions for film soundtrack GOLD took place probably after Mike's departure (Feb.13) and before the move to France (Feb.17 to Feb.22). The sessions were recorded in London. Ronan O'Rahilly played the scenes from the film GOLD to the band (the film was directed in 1968 by US filmmaker Bob Levis). Wayne Kramer played the bass on that occasion. Sound engineer was Henry Henroid. GOLD, TRAIN MUSIC, INSIDE OUT were the 3 (known) songs the MC5 recorded. Only TRAIN MUSIC and INSIDE OUT would appear on the soundtrack LP released on Mother Records from the UK in 1972. (above description taken from the web)
