Description
" MARTY " (1955) A RARE THEME FROM THE FILM BY ROY WEBB The Ernest Borgnine - Betsy Blair film, "MARTY", remains a great favourite of film buffs even today, so many years after it first was released. The classic film evolved from an equally classic tv presentation. Until recently, I wasn't aware that there was yet ANOTHER song from the ROY WEBB score recorded on CORAL Records. This is "SATURDAY NIGHT MAMBO" as played by LES BROWN and his BAND OF RENOWN. CORAL record number 9-61425. LIKE NEW condition. (Side two is the Johnny Mercer song, 'Something's Gotta Give' from the film "Daddy Long Legs".) ROY WEBB composed the spare "MARTY" score, but it was the title song by Harry Warren and play author Paddy Chayefsky that was heard throughout the motion picture that was recorded by COLUMBIA Records and released as a single. Catchy as it was, it failed to become a hit and has since become a sought after collector's item. Now maybe this one will be as well. PLS DISREGARD ANY INFORMATION SHOWN OUTSIDE THIS DESCRIPTION. EBAY IS NOW FORCING US TO SHOW PACKAGE SIZES AND FOR SOME THINGS THIS IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE. TO GET PAST THAT AREA I USED ONLY THE NUMBER 1 AND IT IS MEANINGLESS.
