Original 1st US pressing of Led Zeppelin’s second studio album released on October 22, 1969. This copy is the withdrawn version containing Robert Ludwig’s “Hot Mix” mastering. Sterling Sound “SS” credit is located in the runout groove on both sides following Ludwig’s “RL” initials. 1st print raw textured cardboard gatefold cover remains in the original factory shrink wrap which contains two original hype stickers, a round promotional “Contains the Hit Single WHOLE LOTTA LOVE”  hype sticker on the front and a song title “THIS ALBUM CONTAINS” sticker on the back. Both stickers have the “SD 8236” catalog number. 1st print green-orange Atlantic Records labels with the Atlantic fan logo, the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address, the “PR” suffix and the “SD 8236” catalog number. 1st US pressing vinyl featuring Robert Ludwig’s “Hot” mastering and Sterling Sound “SS” credits on both sides. The full matrix numbers with all of the details in the runout grooves: Side 1 - ST-A-691671-A P LW W AT RL SS / Side 2- ST-A-691672 - A LW AT RL SS W. The album comes with an original Atlantic Records “Aretha Franklin Soul’69” inner sleeve which came with Atlantic’s releases from 1968 to 1969.

The beautiful cover remains in its original factory shrink wrap and is graded as Near Mint Minus. It only has some light bumping to the top right and left corners. Just like the cover, the original Atlantic Records inner sleeve is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. I grade the vinyl conservatively as somewhere between Strong Very Good and Very Good Plus. It retains its stunning factory gloss but has some light non-feelable surface hairlines along with some light scuffs from the inner sleeve that don't affect the playback. The labels are in Near Mint condition and don't have any wear, scuffs or a single spindle mark. The vinyl plays amazing, I grade its playback as Excellent, with the punchy, vivid and dimensional Robert Ludwig's mastering Stereo sound.
