Description

For Sale is my Led Zeppelin 45 RPM Box set issued by Classic Records in 2006. The set consists of 48 single sided vinyl records from the entire Led Zeppelin catalog from LZ I to Coda. This set has been sitting in my closet for years and I have finally decided to sell it.  About half of  records have been played once or twice on my Basis turntable and the other half are unplayed or essentially in new condition. For a detailed description on the records, labels and outer covers see the information listed below this paragraph. This set was made in very limited numbers and will likely never be pressed again in analogue as most reissues today are digital masters.

Condition:

Vinyl:  47 of 48 records should play NM as they have there full gloss and have been kept in there inner sleeves since purchase but one record containing “The battle of Evermore” on Zofo has a small scratch that can be heard in the background for about two minutes into the song. (See photo of the actual record) I received the record this way from the manufacture and was going to send  it back for a replacement but read several other threads from customers at the time who had sent back some records to Classic Records and never received a new copy as a replacement. To be honest I did not want to take a chance of not getting this record back and just decided to keep it as is. There is a light tick at the rotation point where the scratch is in the background but it does not over power the music but it is audible with full disclosure. Stairway to heaven sounds stunning and plays beautifully with a level of authority, clarity and heavy bass definition that I have not since heard with any other Led Zeppelin copy of this title. Truly a Reference sonically that I doubt will ever be surpassed.

Covers:  There are (10) picture covers with the rest being the standard white with a round Classic Records 45 RMP series sticker. Some of the sleeves had a small ½” sticker on the upper right hand front corner which I removed(See 2nd Photo) . On the LZ II cover a small amount of the brown texture on the right corner smeared and a small amount of the texture cover was removed on Houses of the holy and Presence which can been seen on the photo from the sticker removal. This is cosmetic just to the right corners on some covers but otherwise the outer covers have been protected with plastic sleeves since 2006 so there is no ring wear. Except for the above exception the ten picture sleeves, including the gatefolds, they have all of there artwork in pristine condition with no signs of fading. (See photo of all 10 covers)

Labels:  All of the labels are exact duplicates of the original in terms of color and style. About 20-25% of the labels have a slightly wrinkled appearance like they were not pressed totally flat by the manufacture. This is the way I received them from Classic Records. A few other have some small marks. (See last 4 Photos). I am trying to describe all of the small flaws for total disclosure even thought they are all cosmetic. The vast majority of the labels look the physical graffiti (See 5th Photo) and are really nice. I suspect most if not all other classic 45 RPM box sets of LZ have some flaws just by the sheer number of records in the set and the sporadic quality control of Classic Records at the time.

If I had more time to listen to music I would keep this set but family priorities now take precedent. The higher 45 RPM speed does take the sound to a level that audiophiles and music lovers will find astounding and addictive. I doubt anyone will go back to the 33 1/3 for serious listening if you own this set as it is a true reference set.

I will ship FedEx ground (included in the Price) with tracking number. Due to the weight and size Domestic Sale (USA) only.
