This is a true first pressing of Kenny Dorham's album Round About Midnight on the Blue Note label. 

This is a Deep Groove pressing with the Lexington address on both labels and on the back cover (no INC or R on both labels). It is a flat edge pressing with the Playstilite “P” and RVG hand etched on both sides. The cover is has the "frame" often referred to as kakabushi and comes with a plain inner sleeve.

The record has scuffs and hairlines, and there are marks that sound. The record still retains some gloss, and for the most part the sound is nice and bright and an enjoyable listen. Track 1 is a bit crackly to start with but clears up with the occasional bit of static noise here and there. There is some noise between tracks 2 & 3 on Side 2 into track 3 itself for about a minute.

This is definitely not an audiophile copy but an enjoyable listen all the same for a 61 year old record, and being a definite Lexington first pressing, is very much a collectable item. The sound could be brighter still with a decent clean, but unfortunately I do not own a record cleaning machine or the right gear to do it myself. 

The cover shows signs of wear, and has a bottom seam split, but otherwise it is in reasonable condition with no moisture damage or writing.

Round About Midnight was recorded back in 1956.

Please note that I am shipping from New Zealand, not the US. Domestic shipping within the US does not apply and item is not available for local pick up despite what the listing says; I had to put that in to so I could get this listing up otherwise it would not let me proceed with the listing.

International Shipping will depend on the country to which the record is shipped, but is usually somewhere between $40.00 - $60.00. I only ship with tracking and insurance to avoid any problems. I will not ship to Italy or Greece. Shipping will be worked out once I know which country I am shipping to. 

Shipping will be via Fedex or another International Carrier, not USPS.

PLEASE DO NOT PAY FOR THE RECORD UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVOICE FROM ME

I will ensure the record is removed from the cover for shipping to avoid damaging the cover. The record will be well packed and sent in a sturdy cardboard mailer to protect the record during transit and minimizing the risk of damage.
