Description

Vinyl: strong VG+

Cover: EX

Very rare original US mono issue of this fantastic Blue Note classic. Has all the characteristics of a genuine first press:

  • Lexington-address on labels, deep grooves on both labels. No "R" under the last "e" in Blue Note on label.
  • "Ear" and RVG etched in dead wax.
  • Flat edge vinyl.
  • Non-laminated sleeve with Lexington-address, no INC. Blank spine.

Vinyl is nice and glossy with some minor marks. Plays beautifully, dynamic and clear with a vivid sound almost as if the band were playing in your room. There are 13-14 soft pops during Kenny Burrell's solo on "Monaco" and some background crackle during the intro of "Night in Tunisia". Other than these minor flaws, the sound/playing quality is excellent.

Cover has light edge/corner wear and some minor staining on the back. Front looks very nice.

Clean labels.
