FAREWELL ALDEBARAN
(UK STRAIGHT, STS 1052, 1969)
MEGA RARE ORIGINAL (AND ONLY) UK PRESSING of this baroque psych folk gem by the legendary Judy Henske and her then-husband Jerry Yester! Now hailed as the masterpiece that it truly is, this album slipped out on Frank Zappa's and Herb Cohen's Straight label in 1969 (this was the second album on the label) and sold next to nothing. Amazingly, Straight had UK distribution by CBS who were really on top of their game at this time (the best in my opinion - even better than EMI - check out the UK Miles Davis albums from the late 60s and early 70s and you will see what I mean!). I have been a hardcore FZ and Straight label collector for many years and this is, in my opinion, the RAREST UK STRAIGHT ALBUM OUT THERE! It just hardly ever turns up! This album needs to be in decent shape to be enjoyed - and this one is! Most copies I find are usually in bad shape, but not this one! Hard to find now, especially in such amazing shape! Great stuff! Very hard to find now! You won't be disappointed! Don't miss out!
Vinyl is in EX+ condition : a few very light surface marks, looks and sounds great overall, superb pressing with full, rich sound and minimal wear, beautiful!
Gatefold sleeve is in EX(-) condition : the best example I have ever seen, this sleeve is very prone to wear as it is not laminated but this has held up very well over the years, light wear on front, spine has light wear but is fully legible, top edges have minimal wear, bottom edges have some wear but no splits, back has an old sticker and a little tear on the top right (see 4th pic for detail) and some light wear and light disc imprint, inside gatefold looks almost good as new, lovely example overall!
