Joy Division 'Sordide Sentimental' 7"

This is a very nice copy of one of the rarest of all Joy Division collectables. It isn't one of the later bootleg represses; it's an original 1979 issue, given to me by a member of Rob Gretton's family. The seven inch label is bordered with a serrated edge. There are two inserts: one is the English translation of Licht Und Bindheit, the other is a blue piece of paper simply stating 'Avertissement Gesamtkunstwerk' 'Sordide' was limited to 1578 copies; this is number 001304.
CONDITION:
This seven has been carefully looked after by the Gretton family for years. The colours on the booklet-style sleeve still look fantastic. There is a little wear to the spine and corners. On the inside, the tracing paper (which holds the seven inch), has become slightly unstuck at the bottom, and totally unstuck on the left-hand side. The glue is brown with age.
The record itself is in excellent condition. Under harsh light, some very light surface marks are visible. 'Dead Souls' plays through perfectly, as does 'Atmosphere', barring a slight crackle right at the beginning of the track. There are some visble spindle marks, which indicate that the record has been played a number of times.
