Description
This is the "holy grail" of Joy Division records - the first release ever by the band. This is the original issue - it has all the tell-tale attributes that a geniune copy should have. It was obtained in the early 1980's from a friend working on the "An Ideal For Living - An History of Joy Division" book published by Proteus Books. In fact, this sleeve was used as the source image for a page inside the book. To this day, a small note is taped to the sleeve, reading "Fig 11, Page 23 Reduce the whole spread to 76mm width - OPEN UP" - If you check the book, it is indeed featured on Page 23 as Fig. 11. Due to the note being taped to the sleeve, there is a brownish mark, about 1 3/4" long, caused the adhesive. This is fully detailed on the pics included on this listing. The rest of the sleeve is in beautiful condition, close to the same as when the band folded it themselves back in 1978. The record is in good condition, with some slight surface scuffs - its plays fine and is flat. Paypal is preferred, and you must have a verified Paypal account. Full payment is due within 48 hours of end of auction. Cashiers checks or Money Orders also accepted. Shipping to be determined by destination. I will ship only fully insured and trackable.

On Oct-26-07 at 16:37:31 PDT, seller added the following information:The note mentioned above and detailed in the pictures is taped to the back of the sleeve - the adhesive has over time seeped through to the front, creating the mark that is visible in the pictures. The actual piece of masking tape is still holding the note in place on the backside of the sleeve.
