(MONO)THE BEST WAY TO HEAR THIS RECORD!

Another from my personal collection. 1st UK pressing of John Mayall's 'Bare Wires'. Becoming extreemely difficult to find like this, in barely played condition, and in the most sought after format the original ((Mono)) pressing. Pressed from the earliest masters features -1A -1A Matrix endings and importantly features ''1'' to ''1'' mother stampers! (earliest produce the best audio experience on vinyl in my opinion)    A very clean copy indeed 43 years old like this! The vinyl has always been stored seperately from the cover which has obviously preserved this album for all of these years ,, this is how I have always stored my records! I have play tested the vinyl prior to this listing at very loud volume on a top system,, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge. The audio is truly stunning in fact exceptional in my opinion,, cristal clear and very vibrant, amaizingly, without any clicks or pops and no distiortion audio is graded as near mint!  It is obvious to me that this vinyl has never had more than a handful of plays both visually and audibly this vinyl is stunning! Top, Top Quality! This is complete with the original Decca record sleeve and 1st issue Laminated front gatefold cover! For any avid John Mayall collectors or audiophiles out there this copy is for you in my opinion. The mega quiet tracks during the play of this album makes it imperitive that only good quality vinyls will sound acceptable when listening to this album, 1st UK pressings are extreemely hard to locate like this!!

John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers are a pioneering English blues band, led by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist John Mayall, OBE, that has included such luminaries as:

Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce (both later in Cream), Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood (later all in Fleetwood Mac), Mick Taylor (later in The Rolling Stones), Don "Sugarcane'' Harris  Harvey Mandel Randy Resnick, Walter Trout, Larry Taylor (later in Canned Heat), Aynsley Dunbar, Dick Heckstall-Smith Andy Fraser (Free), Chris Mercer, Henry Lowther, Johnny Almond and Jon Mark (later of Mark-Almond).

The Bluesbreakers were formed in January 1963 with an ever-evolving lineup. Eric Clapton joined in 1965 just a few months after the release of their first album. Clapton brought the blues influences to the forefront of the group, as he had left The Yardbirds in order to play the blues.

The group lost their record contract with Decca that year, which also saw the release of a single called "I'm Your Witchdoctor" (produced by Jimmy Page), followed by a return to Decca in 1966. The album Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton, also known as The Beano Album, was released later that year; it reached the Top Ten in the UK.

Clapton and Jack Bruce left the group that year to form Cream. Clapton was replaced by Peter Green for A Hard Road, after which he left to form Fleetwood Mac. Finally, in 1969, the third Bluesbreaker-guitarist departed when Mick Taylor joined the Rolling Stones. He would soon be replaced by blues guitarist Kal David.

By the time the 1960s were over, the Bluesbreakers had finally achieved some success in the United States.

With some interruptions, the Bluesbreakers have continued to tour and release albums (over 50 to date), though they never achieved the critical or popular acclaim of their earlier material. In 2003, Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor and Chris Barber reunited with the band for John Mayall's 70th Birthday Concert in Liverpool — the concert was later released on CD and DVD. In 2004, their line up included Buddy Whittington, Joe Yuele, Hank Van Sickle and Tom Canning, and the band toured the UK with Mick Taylor as a guest musician!

The Mother Stampers

''1'' ''H'' AND ''1'' ''H'' (VERY VERY EARLY STAMPERS ''1'' to ''1'' FOR THE BEST AUDIO ON VINYL)

The vinyl

This is the original heavy and thicker type of vinyl with deeper grooves (later were flimsier and less robust!!!!)The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable!

On initial inspection the vinyl's playing surface looks like new! Absolutely awesome  ! still retaining its original sheen from new! In strong light any marks that would possibly be seen would be sleeve removal marks only! Please note! this vinyl has always been stored in a seperate poly sleeve, seperated from the cover! This is how I have always stored my vinyls! Absolutely (no) needle scratches can be seen at all, at least no marks that would cause any clicks or pops that I heard!

The Audio Quality

I have played the vinyl through track for track as usual and the audio is cristal clear and vibrant with (no) signs of grooveware or that this has been overplayed in fact in my opinion this has been barely ever played!   Unbeleivable for a 43 year old record! please note! I play these vinyls at very loud volume on a top system! In my honest opinion this plays and sounds better than a new\mint vinyl!  Please note! because most of the records that I have have been stored in a case for at least 25 years I always ask that it is advisable to clean the vinyl before each play to reduce any static crackle! Most of this static would be caused  from dust and dirt trapped the grooves over the years from laying dormant and with subsequent cleaning each time the record is played the static would decrease. Although I must emphisise that I heard absolutely (no) problems what so ever! In fact this is one of the best mono sound of this pressing that I have ever heard!  I would class myself as highly critical especially when it comes down to the audio quality! (every now and then you come across a real deep rich basey pressing like this one and this will be very hard to surpass! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold on ebay and you will see that i normally get it right! Still the audio is SUPERBE   TOP! TOP! AUDIO THROUGHOUT ON ALL FREQUENCIES!! With ABSOLUTELY no skips or jumps or infact any interfearance at all that I heard!

This is the best that I have heard Never Need To Upgrade!

To sum up! the audio is clear and vibrant with (no) distortion and (NO) background crackle\ticks that I heard  at all !!!I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd light static crackle (not consistant throughout the audio) even between tracks noise is minimal please remember this is a  40 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 40 year old system!!!

The Labels

Unboxed Decca labels (only 1st press) superbe! I can barely see a handfull of spider marks only when angled to the light!  This has not been overplayed at all! IN MY OPINION BARELY PLAYED ! UNBELEIVABLE FOR 43 YEARS OLD!!!

The original record sleeve.

VERY VERY RARE DECCA SERPIA POLY LINED RECORD SLEEVE,,  BECOMING FRAGILE WITH AGE!  Please note there is a small tare at the opening edge only but this is the origininal and displays the correct date stamp ''10-68'' printed on the sleeve!  This displays no edge splits! The vinyl is stored seperately from the sleeve and cover!!!!

The Cover

This is the original laminated front gatefold cover printed by 'Robert Stace' (only early pressings) in superbe condition with (no) splits or tares and hardly any creasings to talk of at all, in fact any that there are you would have to scrutinise to notice in my opinion! in the main cover just very light laminate creases only (very) very minimal  storageware at all to talk of any rubbing barely noticable unless scrutinised. light laminate lift at the rear near the spine only!  superbe example! This must grade at least excellent if not better in my opinion!!

NEVER NEED TO UPGRADE!!!!
