Here is another from my personal collection I have owned this awesome and very rare album from new, I have decided to list this together with the others that I have listed on ebay. A rare and earliest original and 1st UK pressing featureing the withdrawn 1st issue E.day gatefold with unbeleivably rare 'blue text' Please note, it is so hard to even find these with the blue text in any condition but to find one like this is almost impossible!  #1#1#1#1 matrix endings (all four sides) and mat textured track labels (only 1st press) This album was only ever played to record to tape and then stored with the vinyls seperated from the cover the way that I have always stored my records!! The vinyls look absolutely stunning, free of warps or any audio sounding marks what so ever,  The audio is the real attraction to this album for me, as near perfect on my systems as it could be absolutely stunning audio seperation free from clicks or pops, even when played at very loud volume unsurpassable top audio seperation on all frequencies!!!! Awesome original E.Day gatefold cover in  very near mint condition, looks as good as the day that I purchased it 42 years ago! (rare AND HIGHLY COLLECTABLE complete like this) Please note! Only these earliest pressings feature corrected matrixes on all four sides, on the run off grooves and are the original thick heavy and chunky vinyls! This album is certainly an archive copy, never need to upgrade!

Electric Ladyland is the third and final album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, released on October 16, 1968 on Reprise Records in the US . Written and produced by Jimi Hendrix, the album is seen as the peak of Hendrix's mastery of the electric guitar, and is frequently cited as one of the greatest rock albums of all time. It is not only the last of his albums released as the Jimi Hendrix Experience, but also the last of Hendrix's studio albums to be professionally produced under his own supervision. After Electric Ladyland, Hendrix spent the remaining two years of his life attempting to organize a new band and recording a breadth of new songs!!!.

Released as a double album, Electric Ladyland is a cross-section of Hendrix's wide range of musical talent. It includes samples of several genres and styles of music, including the psychedelia of "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" (previously a UK single in the summer of 1967), the bluesy guitar jam "Voodoo Chile", the New Orleans-style rock and roll of "Come On", the epic studio production of "1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)", and the political commentary of "House Burning Down".

The album also features a cover version of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" that was widely praised by many, including Dylan himself, as well as "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", a staple of both radio and guitar repertoire!!

After a troubled tour of Scandinavia, a brief period of recordings for Electric Ladyland at Olympic studios in London, England and a prestigious concert at the Paris Olympia, Hendrix moved back to the USA for the start of his first proper tour there!.

Three months later he began work on the LP at the newly opened Record Plant Studios, situated close to his favorite clubs and with his favourite engineers Eddie Kramer and Gary Kellgren. During the recording of the album Jimi fell out with Chas and Noel!.

With a hectic tour schedule and also trying to record a masterpiece, Hendrix still wanted to have a life, so he combined work with pleasure by inviting his friends and acquaintances to the studio. Chas obviously hated spending so much time in the studio and partly blamed it on these guests, but Jimi was determined to have his way and so his regular producer, manager and mentor Chas Chandler eventually quit in May 1968. Chandler later complained that Hendrix's insistence on doing multiple takes of every song ("Gypsy Eyes" apparently took 43 takes, and he still wasn't satisfied with the result), combined with what Chandler saw as Hendrix's drugged incoherence, led him to sell his share of the management company to his partner Michael Jeffery. But then Hendrix went on to produce his most successful LP himself and several very successful tours, mostly sold out. Hendrix then died suddenly of a drug overdose in his sleep and the news was terrible for everyone!!!.

Hendrix's studio perfectionism was indeed legendary – he reportedly made guitarist Dave Mason do over 20 takes of the acoustic guitar backing on "All Along the Watchtower" – yet he was always insecure about his voice and often recorded his vocals hidden behind studio screens. Hendrix sings all the backing vocals himself on the title track and on "Long Hot Summer Night." He was said to be very happy with the vocal results on the title track!!!!.

The Vinyl and Audio!

The 1st important note is that these are the original much thicker type of vinyls than the later pressings which are much more flimsier and less robust! Both vinyls lay perfectly flat on the turntable and are free of any warps!

There isn't much to say about the vinyls on initial inspection these look as new in my opinion, and it is hard for me to even see a blemish at all on all four sides! Any marks that could be possibly be seen looked under strong light would be sleeve removal marks\scuffs! (non audio sounding at all on my systems) in fact both vinyls look and sound like they have only ever been played less than a handful of times ever!!! Try to find better after 42 years!! Points to note!! These vinyls have been stored seperately in poly sleeves during its storage life which has preserved these vinyls all of these years this is how i have always stored my vinyls!!!!!

The Audio Quality

I have played all four sides of these vinyls track for track two times prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! In breif the audio was absolutely perfect on my systems. (Definately (no) distortion (no) clicks or pops (no) skips or jumps! Even the usual static crackle that is normally heard in between tracks is almost silent to sum up this plays as a new vinyl!! Unsurpassable audio seperation and vibrancy! The best that I have heard of this pressing! I don't think that you could get better in any other format!! The fact that these original vinyls are in virtually unplayed condition makes the difference for the best audio quality available on these pressings!!!!! THIS AUDIO WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS!!!!

The Labels

All four are awesome (no) nasty marks  and are extreemely clean look almost as new in my opinion ! Quite unbeleivable for a 41 year old original 1st press!!! It is hard to even see any spindle marks only angled to the light can any just barely be seen (no) spindleware the holes are perfectly round!! SEE THE CLOSE UPS IN THE PHOTOS THIS IS SO RARE TO FIND!!!!

The Cover

This is the rarest original 1st issue, 1st UK press, FULLY laminated INSIDE AND OUT  gatefold cover! Earliest only feature 'BLUE TEXT' on the inside of the gatefold and larger pictures! In fact this text was withdrawn due to errors during the printing stage and also that the blue text did not take well on the black surface. If you look closely the blue text is out of line and a shadow of previous incorrect text have been over printed, I can just make out the original printed text which was typed out incorrectly with the track listings for each side incorrect they tried to correct this with the blue text but it never really worked, (later issues most commonly seen had white text on the inside and have none of these errors!  Very Very hard to find in this condition!!Printed by E.day & co, England. Super super glossy appearance (normaly seen badly rubbed)    Amaizingly barely any real storageware with age, just very, very minor small half inch laminate crease to mention on the front (only noticed if looked for). Hardly any real storageware or ringware, rubbing you have to look hard to notice any!! (no) real rubbing at the edges and sharp corners and spine lovely and square with no flattening with age!!! Lovely and super clean!!(An important feature is that there is no real creases and this is really super glossy in appearance, this is in the same condition as I purchased it 42 years ago frm new! More importantly (no) real ringware as the vinyls have been stored seperate from the cover all these years to prevent this!!! THIS IS HOW I ALWAYS HAVE STORED MY ALBUMS!! This must grade at least excellent plus, to very very near mint. I don't think you will find better! Exceptional for 41 years old!!

HOW I SEND MY RECORDS!
