Description
Only the second copy that I've seen offered (and the first with a lyric insert, which this has) of this English school/college recording that's a musical adaptation of Tolkien's 'Farmer Giles of Ham' story with all-original songs. Vocals come from the college students, while the band consists of the standard guitars/organ/bass/drums line-up augmented by violin, flute, clarinet, piano, trumpet etc. Some nice organ, flute and guitar especially, and as you can see, this has a striking paste-on black-and-white fantasy/psychedelic front sleeve design. Back sleeve is also paste-on with a list of credits, has a small tear that loses a small section of the credits (see scan), but this is in nice condition overall, vinyl is a strong Ex. Plain white cover was clearly individually stuck together with tape, but has an approximately three-inch split across the bottom. Disc labels are plain grey except for a small title/credits sticker, but the run-out has the catalogue number DER1034, so clearly this was a Deroy pressing.
