Before there were Madonna and Michael Jackson, there were Four Tops. No, The Four Tops did not practice Kabbalah or do what Michael Jackson allegedly did. This analogy is valid in one - and only one - sense: Just like Michael Jackson and Madonna did many years later, this gorgeous, classic Motown album from 1966 managed to produce no less than six (6) singles, all top-100 charting, some on Pop, some on R&B charts, some on both. Until this album came out, the world of R&B and Soul music pretty much did not know what multimillion-seller album was. And, what a great , beautiful recording it is. Wide-channel stereo magnifies every minute details in the guys voices and gives your speakers a run for the money. The title track (Reach out,I‘ll be there) , penned by legendary Holland-Dozier-Holland just trio as they were experimenting with the counterpoint of classical music (tension-release-tension) is one of the most recognizable soul anthems, and probably one of the most important song of the XX century.The quartet attempted - and to large extent succeeded - in replicating this approach with a string of subsequent hits. The songs are: Reach Out, I’ll be there - Walk away Renee - 7 Rooms of Gloom - If I were a Carpenter - Last Train to Clarksville - I’ll turn to stone - I’m a believer - Standing in the shadows of love - Bernadette - Cherish - Wonderful Baby - What else is there to do. A truly classic piece of Motown vinyl, not to be missed.

(a)            THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID).

(b)            The record is STILL SEALED in its original inner, perforated plastic baggy.

(c)             The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)            Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its stereo counterpart. We think that the mix is more natural, humane, "organic" and that the mixes are somewhat different than on the stereo version. We estimate that stereo copies of this album outnumber mono pressings by a ratio of at least 3:1.

(e)             Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 4.

-         Cover has a partially split spine (less than 1 inch / 2.5 centimeters)

-         Cover has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-covered sections, which closely follow the contour of the record), probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage. The tarnish is similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

-         Cover shows some light yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.

-         Cover has a visible "wrinkle"(crease) in one of the corners.

-         Cover has some fraying/wear along the spine

-         No cut-out (drill) holes.

-         No cut-out corners

-         No saw-marks or indents

-         No writing

-         No stamps

-         No peel-off marks

-         No stains

-         No mold or mildew spots

-         No stickers or labels

-         No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or cuts.

-         No warping

-         No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-         No bar codes

-         No RIAA stamps or stickers.
