SEALED JIMMIE GROKETT PRIVATE LABEL LP:

"COUNTRY LADY"

According to THIS WEBSITE (click here) about The Flying Burrito Brothers, what you see here is an album that was planned to be released but ultimately never was, and remained in the vaults. It may be in the vault, but we have one copy, a FACTORY SEALED LP that came from a private collection in Nashville, Tennessee.

This is a very obscure and little known Burrito rarity (especially since some say it was never released from the vault!) that was Produced and Arranged by Burrito JOHN BELAND, who also plays guitar and harmonica on the album.

In the latter years of the John Beland and Gib Guilbeau duo of The Burrito Brothers, from early 1983 until 1984 they used a Sherman, Texas based band called WILD RED HORSE (later Red Horse) as their backing musicians, which included JIMMIE GROKETT on Keyboards. The Red Horse band was comprised of:
Danny Batchelor- Rhythm Guitar
David Batchelor- Bass
Bennie Vincent- Lead Guitar, Pedal Steel, Fiddle
Tracy (Tab) Bell- Drums
Jimmie Grokett- Keyboards

The material on Country Lady was recorded at A.M.I. Studios in Hendersonville, Tennessee (a Suburb of Nashville) and Pantego Sound in Arlington, Texas. The musicians on this record include:
Guitars- John Beland, Ray Flacke
Steel Guitar- Larry Marvel, Larry Sasser
Bass- Glenn Worf
Keyboards- Jamey Whiting
Drums- Eddy Anderson, Harry Stinson
Harmonica- John Beland
Vocals- Jimmie Grokett, Lou Reid, Jim Photoglo, Martin Wayne
Additional Musicians- Jubal Dudley, Charlie Jones, Doyle Ellis, Danny Williams.

What is almost as amazing as the rarity of this record is the condition- the shrink wrap is still sealed tight and is very clean, with no tears or damage in the shrink wrap. If you look very closely under a bright lamp, there is a tiny bit of wear and a handful of light surface scuff marks on the outside surface of the shrink wrap. The shrink wrap has done a great job of protecting the cover, which is immaculate except for one small, light ding in the bottom right corner.

All LPs come packaged carefully in a sturdy corrugated box made specifically for mailing LPs plus a cardboard insert. The covers are placed in clear plastic record sleeves. The vinyl is removed from the cover (except for SEALED items) for shipping to prevent seam splitting during shipment.
