Offered is one of the most treasured of all recordings in Classical Music History, The Royal Ballet, Gala Performances.

This is the Original First Edition of the Double-LP Boxed Set, in Mono, and is the "Deluxe Edition" complete with all inserts as issued by RCA Victor in 1958.

Over these 60 years since its release, this box set, designed to resemble a fine book with gold lettering on the spine, has been exceptionally well-stored. The 2 records within have been little-played and well-handled, putting the entire issue in superb, investment-grade condition as described below:

THE VINYL -  EX+ :  Lightly played with minimal evidence of spindlewear, all four sides of the two records retain all of their original gloss with bright, undamaged, red and silver "Shaded Dog"  RCA Victor labels.
 
Present on the vinyl surfaces of each of the four sides are a few light marks, including some cosmetic sleevewear from the original inner sleeve, and a few (very few)  light, shallow hairlines. I completed a playgrade, and heard no audible effects from them. There are no deep marks.

In all, the records has been carefully handled, infrequently played, and produce a clean, strong, mono audio. Here are the Deadwax Stampers (please check further below the the entire deadwax matrix inscriptions) :

Included are both of the original RCA Victor / Soria Series paper and plastic inner sleeves. They both have some age-related yellowing on one side, however they are intact with no seam tears, dirt or missing portions (please see photos).






THE BOX SET COVER : 

The outer portion of the cover is EX. It has a textured, fabric material surface that is fully intact with some fraying on the upper seam. There are some cosmetic marks (very few on the front, and some black marks on the back- please see photos).

The inner portion (with the book-like spine) is also EX. It is fully laminated and intact. The is a small amount of separation (about 1") on the upper portion of an edge that faces inside the outer cover (not the outer spine- please see photos).

Also included is the fabulous 24 page Libretto and is EX+.  It has both black & white photos of the various performances, and full color artwork. It too is complete with no missing or damaged pages, and all pages are firmly attached to the spine. A small stain at the bottom of the cover page that you can see from the photo is the only flaw.

Pictured as well is the original "handbill", that serves as a tracklist for the music.
