Elmore James

The Elmore James Memorial Album

12" Vinyl LP

Sue Records

Original UK Pressing

Catalogue Number : ILP 927

Mono

Part Laminated Sleeve

A really superb Original UK 12" vinyl release of this iconic recording from 1965 in Near Mint condition.

Vinyl looks like it has hardly been played, if ever, and is in NM condition, (so close to Mint!) This heavyweight vinyl still carries a beautiful sheen and has a deep shine and lustre. The original textured red and yellow Sue labels are  excellent, no scuffs, no spindle wear, no warps or surface marks at all. Still static when I pulled the record out to inspect it. A very very clean, and beautiful record.

The part laminated sleeve is graded Excellent+/NM. The laminate is still shiny and in Excellent condition throughout. The colours are strong, bright and bold.  The rear of the sleeve is clean with a good whiteness with the merest hint of ageing. The spine is straight and true and the text is clear and readable. Very Nice, EX+NM.

A genuine and collectable rare Blues LP, 1st UK pressing, in superb condition throughout.

Please check my other auctions for many more classic original UK and US Jazz and Blues records from a large and well looked after collection.

I have used photographs and description to show the record condition to the best of my ability - However please contact me with any further questions that you may have

Records will be mailed in a strong corrugated cardboard cruciform style mailer.

I use the UK record collector grading guide as detailed below.

Records are visually graded unless stated as play graded

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
