For sale EXEPTIONAL SET of 6x78 RPM of CALYPSO and STEELBAND. With the calypsonians DICTATOR, THE SPOILER, SPITFIRE and KING RADIO, all accompanied by SHE SHE CALYPSO BAND. The STEELBAND sides are by TRINIDAD PANHARMONIC ORCHESTRA. 78 RPM, 10" on VITADISC, TC.117, TC.134, TC.136, TC.166, TC.171 and TC.172. Original English pressing. Condition of the Records: VG+++ to M / Label: Near Unplayed. Goldmine grading. All the records are still glossy and play perfectly. The sound is excellent and the usual backround noise of the 78RPM technology is here exceptionaly dicret. I never have seen such Calypso records on VITADISC before to buy them many years ago in Paris. So, I guess they are rare. Because I bought them 6 together, I sell them together again. The music quality is excellent and will satisfy the most demanding fans. There is 4 sides with the Calypsonians, 3 instrumental sides and 5 steelband sides. All are Real Calypso music from Trinidad. The years could be late 40's to early 50's, but there is no indication of that. It is just a guess because of the sound quality. Musicaly, you will be surprised about the sweetness of the old steelband sound, very different comparing to the later mega-panorama band. This is a reluctant sell because I need heavy money for my project of music studio here in France. The next owner will be an happy man and it will be very smart of him to reissue these sides on CD. Don't miss these rare and excellent records in such lovely condition cause you are not ready to see them soon again...
