D.A. Hunt - Greyhound Blues Original Sun 183 45 RPM

This is Sun 183, the 9th release in the Sun Records catalog from D.A. Hunt for Greyhound Blues w/Lonesome Old Jail.  To say this is insanely rare is not an understatement.  This 45 RPM/7" record was released in June of 1953.  This record does have visible push marks.  The record is not warped.  Sound samples are available upon request.  I have played both sides of the record completely through.  The deadwas etchings are U-69/45 and U-70/45.  The record does visually grade somewhere between VG- and G+.  There are a lot of marks on both sides of this record.  The record plays as follows.  Side A plays VG- to G+ with lots of background noise, but still clear music and vocals that are very enjoyable to listen to.  There are occasional pops.  The labels are in VG-/G+ condition due to ring wear and an X and a B scratched into A.  The B side labels are in the same condition with the same X and B scratched into the label.  The record does get stuck half-way through.  I have cleaned it with a soft cloth and experienced the same issue.  You might be able to run it through a VPI cleaning machine or something similar and be able to have it not stick.  I played it on my portable Numark and will play it on my USB Numark with headphones in the next day or so and see if it plays through with a heavier tonearm.  It plays just fine after.  Side B plays VG- to G+ with lot of background noise, but still clear music and vocals.  It plays all the way through just fine.  Due to the value of this record, I will only ship it express mail only.

All 45 RPM/7" records will be sent in a 45 rpm mailer with a piece of cardboard on both sides of the record.  The 45 will be shipped to you with a protective plastic sleeve.  Any record in a picture sleeve or company sleeve will be mailed outside the sleeve to prevent damage of the sleeve.

I am a very picky grader and grade strictly. Something I grade as VG condition may be seen by others as VG+. I’d rather grade on the conservative side and have you be pleasantly surprised. Nothing is more disappointing than receiving records from people who grossly over-grade the condition of an LP or CD.

Within the U.S., LPs can be sent via media mail rate with delivery confirmation, however, please realize that this service is much slower than priority mail. Media mail takes 7-10 days, whereas priority mail usually takes 2-3 days.

Insurance and tracking are not available on first class mail international.  Proof of mailing can be purchased for an additional $1.10 charge.  Priority mail and express mail international are available for an additional charge. 

Postage and packaging rates are calculated below using the postage calculator.  All packages include a $1.25 handling charge that covers the cost of the heavy-duty cardboard mailer and cardboard inserts.
