Description

Up for auction here is an original REJECTED test pressing of Big Black's Atomizer LP from 1986. Steve was very unhappy with the initial version, and insisted that the master be recut. He had copious notes for Homestead Records about what was wrong with the record. If you take a look at the etchings on the commercial release, they are HMS 043 A RE and HMS 043 B RE, whereas here they're HMS 043 A and HMS 043 B. I gave this a cursory side by side listen with the released version shortly after I got it, and no differences really jumped out at me, but I'm also a little deaf in one ear and have constant tinnitus (ringing of the ears), so your mileage may vary.

Record is in VG/EX shape. The sleeve is a plain white cardboard jacket with the HMS Records one-sheet taped onto the front, and a label (poorly removed) on the back. The record is a plain, white label test pressing. Nothing too exciting to look at, but MAN is this rare--I've only seen two copies, mine, and one that had handwritten notes from Steve Albini on the front.

Check out my other auctions--I'm selling plenty more punk junk!

Insurance is required for all purchases--coverage is $1.00 per $100 of value on domestic packages, $2.00 per $100 of value on overseas packages.

Please note that eBay's ridiculous new rules about shipping have made me change my shipping options, which makes things a couple bucks more expensive for US buyers. Sorry guys--try complaining to ebay. I have. It doesn't seem to work.
